Labor Commits $50,000 for New Playground at Brunswick South Primary School

29/04/2019

Peter Khalil, the Federal Member for Wills, today announced $50,000 of funding to build a new playground at Brunswick South Primary School.

This election is a choice between a Shorten Labor Government with a plan for the infrastructure our community needs, or more cuts and chaos from the Liberals.

Mr Khalil visited the school, located in the federal electorate of Wills, to announce the funding on Monday.

If Labor form government at the federal election on 18 May, the funding will be provided in the first term of a Shorten Labor Government.

This funding announcement is on top of the $13.4 million of extra investment in schools in the Wills electorate, which will be invested over the first three years of a future Shorten Labor Government. $310,000 of that commitment is allocated to Brunswick South Primary School.

“This funding is about investing in facilities for a wonderful school. The kids at Brunswick South Primary have great teachers, and a new playground will really enhance their learning environment,” said Mr Khalil.

A Shorten Labor Government, if elected, will deliver the biggest investment in public schools in Australian history, so every child gets the fair go they deserve.

An extra $14 billion will be invested in public schools nationally to make sure Australian schools get the funding they need to give students more individual attention, and more help with the basics such as reading, writing, maths, and science.

Only a vote for Peter Khalil and Labor will ensure better schools and more investment in our most valuable resource: our children.
