Closure of Hadfield Commonwealth Bank Branch

19/02/2019

I have been approached by multiple constituents in my electorate expressing concerns about plans to close the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) branch at 110 West Street in Hadfield.

The permanent closure of the branch will disadvantage local business and pensioners who use and rely upon the branch to conduct their banking affairs.

While some banking services can be performed at the Hadfield Australia Post outlet, this outlet is not wheelchair accessible and many banking services are not available altogether. Other CBA branches in adjacent suburbs are located at busy intersections and also have accessibility issues.

As the local Federal MP, I have written to the CEO of the Commonwealth Bank, Matt Comyn, convey these concerns and to urge CBA management to reconsider their decision. I will continue to make representations on behalf of my constituents and in the best interests of my community.
