As we look to a future beyond COVID-19, the climate crisis continues to worsen under this Liberal Government.
Since the dark days of Tony Abbott’s Prime Ministership, Australia’s emissions reduction targets have not changed.
After dumping Malcolm Turnbull over climate policy, Scott Morrison continues to embarrass Australia on the international stage with his refusal to commit to net zero emissions by 2050.
Unlike Scott Morrison and the Liberals, Federal Labor know that action on climate change is not just a necessity but an opportunity. We know that good climate policy is good jobs policy and can help supercharge Australia’s economic recovery.
In the lead up to the next election, we are continuing to detail our plan and policies to reduce emissions, cut household energy costs and create secure well-paid jobs in emerging industries.
I want to give you the opportunity to discuss these policies and how we can continue to pressure the Morrison Government to take real action on climate change with me and Chris Bowen, Federal Labor’s Shadow Minister for Climate Change & Energy.
